John or Chris to his friends begin his practice as an attorney with the Army’s Judge Advocate Generals Corp. in 1979 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. Initially served as the Legal Services Attorney, he handled questions and matters for active duty and retired service members involving almost every state. As part of these duties he acted as base Tax counsel and base labor counsel, assisting many young troopers with their tax returns and in getting returns filed that had been previously missed by the troops. Chris served as Chief of Military Justice for the proving grounds for most of his time there and was responsible for teaching military law and related international law as well. During this time, Chris tried numerous cases before special and general Courts Martial as well as handling traffic court for the base and the occasional Base related accident case before the Federal Magistrate in Baltimore.
Since returning to Memphis, Chris has concentrated his practice in the areas of personal injury and worker’s compensation. He also handles Probate and Will matters for the Firm as well as Social Security Disability. Over the years Chris has worked with Calvin to represent both the Grey Hound Bus Driver’s Union and the MATA drivers’ Union in their labor arbitration cases. Chris was the designated lead attorney in Tennessee for the Greyhound drivers’ claims for unemployment during the Greyhound lockout which eventually lead to the collapse of the Company. Chris was successful in obtaining unemployment benefits for all of the Union drivers in Tennessee in one of the first such cases in Tennessee where striking workers were able to collect unemployment benefits.
Chris’s practice serves primarily private individuals in their claims for relief and damages caused by accidents and on the job injuries in Shelby County and its surrounding Tennessee Counties.

Chris’s practice is concentrated in the following areas:

  • Personal Injury
  • Workers Compensation
  • Social Security Disability
  • Wills
